FuelDrop helps South African drivers find the cheapest fuel nearby and see price changes before they happen. It is a web app and a Flutter app for iOS and Android, sharing one Firebase backend.
The brief
FuelDrop helps South African drivers find the cheapest fuel nearby. It uses official pump prices and daily basic fuel price data, so drivers can see changes before they happen.
What we did
- A data pipeline that collects official DMRE pump prices and daily CEF basic fuel prices
- Price lookup by GPS, using magisterial district boundaries and fuel zones
- A web app with pump prices, a zones map, station lookup and a fuel log with receipt uploads
- A Flutter app for iOS and Android that mirrors the web app on the same backend
- Marketing landing page

The result
Built between 7 and 15 May 2026. The web app is deployed; the phone app has not been published yet.
