Tabtide · Chrome extension, our own product

A tab manager that knows which tabs you are done with

A Chrome extension that combines a tab manager, a tab suspender and a session manager. It learns on your device which tabs you are probably finished with.

The brief

We wanted one extension to replace a tab suspender and a session manager, and to make many tabs and windows easy to organise. Everything stays on the device, with no network requests, and tabs an AI agent is using are left alone.

What we did

  • A Tab Manager page that lists every window, tab group and tab, with search filters, bulk actions and drag and drop between windows
  • Suspending through Chrome's own tab discarding, so no tab is lost if the extension is removed
  • Saved sessions with automatic safety nets, plus import from OneTab and Session Buddy
  • An on-device model that gives each tab a close score with plain-language reasons
  • AI-agent tab detection that keeps agent tabs awake and out of bulk actions

The result

Version 0.1.0 is feature complete, with 348 unit tests and 40 end-to-end tests in real Chromium. The tab manager is tested to show 500 tabs in under half a second, and a build check confirms it makes no network requests.
